Initial Training
Initial Behavioral Consultation is a 2-hour everything-you-need-to-know session. We help you better understand your dog and based on your goals and needs, create a customized training plan designed for your dog’s breed and temperament.
You’ll learn the most effective ways to quickly teach obedience, as well as, how to stop behavior problems using our proven methods!

Follow-up sessions typically last 90 minutes. These hands-on sessions reinforce lessons, ensure important details are not missed, and help you find ways to implement training in real world settings.

Reactive Dog (2 sessions)
Reactive and aggressive dog training is harder than traditional dog and puppy training. Trainers need more time during each session and need to make extra time for phone calls and emails to follow up on progress.
There is an additional charge for training reactive dogs. For example, the 2 Session Package for a reactive dog is $370, the 3 Session Package for a reactive dog is $495.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience working with dogs of every breed, age, and temperament, Julie brings a depth of knowledge and compassion that sets Zen Dog Training apart. As a proud member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (AKC CGC) Evaluator, Julie holds herself to the highest standards in the industry.
Julie's philosophy is simple: train the human, transform the relationship. Her methods go beyond basic commands — she teaches owners how to understand their dog's behavior, communicate effectively, and build a bond rooted in mutual respect. Whether you're dealing with leash reactivity, separation anxiety, basic obedience, or behavioral challenges, Julie creates a customized training plan tailored to your dog's breed, personality, and your family's lifestyle.

Customized Training Plan
Every dog is different and every client has different needs. Training sessions are customized to your dog’s breed, age, personality, and temperament, but also, to your goals, learning style, family size, and can include special training goals (agility, therapy dog, off-leash obedience).
Zen Dog Training methods go beyond positive reinforcement. Our clients learn how to train their dog with compassion and mutual understanding, not force, corrections, or anger. Positive reinforcement training is combined with gentle interrupt techniques to curb bad behavior, to help your dog learn with less stress and confusion.
